Paris Weekend

Some wine we had in France and inside the
Notre Dame Cathedral

The Notre Dame Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower

View from the top of the Eiffel Tower
So last weekend I went to Paris to meet with my parents and my sister! It was a blast and I am soo glad I got to see them. We spent Friday in Paris seeing the the Eiffel Tower, as well as going to the Notre Dame Cathedral. Both were excellent and I highly recommend seeing them. We also took a boat tour, which while fun and different, you really do not get to see the sites very well because you are on a river and not a sidewalk. But, it was a great way to travel and at least you could hop on or off to get a close up of the sites. We went to Normandy on Saturday to see the D-Day invasion. It was neat to see Omaha Beach (or lack of beach...it was high tide and the water covers the entire beach during this time) as well as the American Cemetery and Memorial. I am really glad we made it here. This was one of the highlights of my entire semester abroad so far. It was also great to take the train to Caen, where we began our tour of Normandy. I am glad my parents got to see and feel how I travel every weekend. I think they were impressed. Sunday, I bid my family Au Revoir and headed home to Switzerland. I miss my family but I will see them in a short month and a half. Eeekkk time is flying by!!!
