So today is Saint Beato Manfredo. Manfredo is the patron saint of Riva San Vitale. He died on January 27, 1217 and his remains are preserved in the Church right across the way from the Villa. For a week in January, his body, well his skeleton I suppose, is put on display for the masses to see. He is believed to have performed miracles, such as turning rocks into bread during famine. But, we went to visit him today and here are some pictures. They are kinda gruesome.
